The last 4 days have been special, because I attended the 4 great moments that mark milestones in the life of every human being: A birth, a birthday, a wedding and a funeral.
's birthday and the wedding was on Saturday and mentioned in the previous post. These moments, parties actually mark not only the passing of time, but the changes and decisions that we take along our journey through life. Markers are like those that exist in the road that tell you what mile you, how much you have progressed in your way.
Birth and funeral were yesterday, quite simultaneously. Born Yesterday
the son of one of my best friends. His path has just begun. And need help to get started in their early years. It's a promise. A path without a trace. The miracle of life.
died the same day the father of one of my students. In complete surprise. An active young man in the prime of his life. While the birth was filled with joy to the family of the newcomer, the death of this man filled with pain to those who knew and loved. And in a surprise move that came a reminder that no one knows what will be the last day of his life. It's the end of the road. A closed book. The mystery of death.
These two moments are the extremes of life. The departure and arrival.
Some say that life is a product of chance and that has no meaning.
I prefer to believe that life is a journey, which we learn everything we can, and leave our footprints, to guide those who come after.
Thanks for reading this far.
